7 Ways To Wear a Maxi Skirt

Would you like to make your dressing as simple and easy as possible? At the end of the day who has the time to spend in the mornings deciding what and how to wear things?

Now, you probably heard about CAPSULE WARDROBE, right? Just to clarify that Capsule Wardrobe is a small collection of clothes that is interchangeable and can be put together in different ways and includes everything you would normally need to wear.

The key to having a capsule wardrobe is a solid outfit foundation. After all, behind every great look is a great basic—and these hardworking pieces are the building blocks of some seriously chic combinations.

Here I want to show you how to create 7 looks (for every day of the week!) that will bring you from work to play (and everywhere in between).

Here I will feature just 1 key item from my capsule wardrobe – a maxi skirt, which you could wear every day of the week! Sounds good?

Consider your week (and season) set with these easy-to-transition outfits for every day and any occasion.

Look 1 – Monday

Here is a new modern combination for a black A-line maxi skirt. This silhouette looks fresh and modern when paired with a loosely tucked-in white muscle T-shirt and this elegant maxi skirt.

This look can definitely bring you from day to evening with just a change of your footwear (if you opt to swap comfortable flats to high heels).

Look 2 – Tuesday

It is easy to create a modern monochromatic look by pairing this elegant skirt with another muscle T-shirt in BLACK.
I always recommend getting your everyday basic T-shirts in black & white so you can create multiple looks, plus they go practically with everything in your wardrobe (If planned & organized well of course).

This look also can bring you from work to play, not to mention it is INCREDIBLY SLIMMING! Yes, please!!!

Look 3 – Wednesday

What I really love about a black skirt is that you can pair it with almost any colour!

In this look, I liked pairing it with a brown sleeveless button-up top to keep the long line silhouette. In dressing, it is ALL about proportions and there’s something so simple and classic about this long line silhouette. And I love the way this floor-grazing skirt hangs on the body, creating a lean, beautiful silhouette.

Look 4 – Thursday

Black & White is such a classic combination and will never go out of style. Think CHANEL…
In this look, I paired the skirt with a white puff sleeve shirt to create a modern classic silhouette. So if you are a lady with a classic style personality this outfit is for you! You can easily wear this to the office, work/business meetings while looking chic and elegant!

Look 5 – Friday

I recently shared a lot about turtlenecks (check my previous blogs and IG posts), why you need them and how to wear them in 2021 too.

Turtlenecks have been symbols of strength, rebellion, style, and modesty throughout history and have been a staple wardrobe item for years now. Great for winter and midseason weather they come in both long sleeve and short sleeve models.

In this look, I paired the skirt with a simple short sleeve turtleneck (ideal for mild temperatures) and as a perfect way to create a modern classic silhouette. It’s a simple and easy to put together look.

Look 6 – Saturday

Layers! Layers! This look is really a continuation of the last Look #5 and here is why. Because here I am combining 2 staples from my capsule wardrobe: a black turtleneck and a white shirt.

These 2 pieces of clothing are the essentials in most well-curated wardrobes and combining them creates another fresh look, which is very on-trend in 2021.

This type of layering is also great for midseason weather and winter alike, to keep you warm.

Wear in or outside the office, this look is that versatile!

Look 7 – Sunday

And the final look is of course is with my favourite turtleneck knit. Great for Autumn and Winter seasons.

As we are approaching colder months this knit is a must-have in my wardrobe. Plus it goes well with most of my outfits and ultra-versatile.

Yes, you might have an idea now that I am a ‘little bit’ obsessed with turtleneck necks. And you are right!

If you are not a fan of turtleneck knits you can always opt for a crew or a boat neck style, as a cozy knit will keep you snug these coming colder months.

Other knit styles to consider: Scoop, Deep scoop, V neck, U neck, or Jewel neck.

Now that you have seen how you can build outfits for each day of the week just using 1 skirt what other piece of clothing you can find in your wardrobe and style in multiple ways? Do you have it? Or do you need some assistance finding this piece or perhaps help with building your Capsule Wardrobe?
